Phone Calling Disclosure

Last updated May 13, 2026

Anchor places automated voice calls and sends SMS verification messages to the phone numbers our users opt in with. This page explains exactly what to expect, and how to stop.

How many calls and messages to expect

The calls Anchor places are the ones you configure:

  • Up to two scheduled calls per day by default, a morning brief and an evening recap. You set the times and can turn either off.
  • On-demand calls when you tap a call button (test call, co-working “Stay with me”, or stuck check-in).
  • Operational SMS, such as the one-time verification code when you add or change your number.

We do not place marketing calls. We do not call you to upsell. We do not call you on behalf of third parties.

How to stop calls

You can withdraw consent at any time, several ways:

  • In the app, go to /coach → Phone, and remove your number, or switch your preferred channel from Phone to In-app.
  • During a call, tell the coach “stop calling me” or hang up at any time.
  • By email, write to hello@talkanchor.com and we will remove your number within one business day.

For SMS verification messages, replying STOP works in most regions.

For users in the United States, TCPA notice

The U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) requires us to obtain your prior express written consent before placing automated calls to your mobile or residential number. By submitting your number on the Coach screen with the consent box ticked, you are providing that consent.

You have the right to revoke that consent at any time using any of the methods listed in the “How to stop calls” section above. Revocation takes effect within 24 hours of receipt and stops all further calls except those required to confirm the opt-out.

We do not make calls covered by the U.S. Do-Not-Call Registry rules for telemarketing · Anchor calls are productivity-service calls you've affirmatively requested.

For users in the EU/UK, ePrivacy and GDPR

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, we rely on your explicit, freely given, specific, and informed consent to place these calls. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

You also have all the rights described in our Privacy Policy , access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Who actually places the call

The technical chain is: Anchor → Twilio (telephony provider) → ElevenLabs (voice AI provider) → your phone. Aya Labs B.V. is the party responsible for the call. Twilio and ElevenLabs are service providers acting on our behalf under standard data-processing agreements.

Recording and transcripts

Calls are processed in real time to produce a transcript that is stored in your account so you can review past conversations and so the AI coach can reference what you said in future calls. The transcript is treated as personal data, see our Privacy Policy for storage and retention details.

In one-party-consent regions of the United States, your consent to this transcription is provided when you accept these terms. In two-party-consent regions, your consent and the AI agent's consent satisfy the requirement.
